The countdown to the Bilbao Summit starts with its official presentation on 24 October

PLACE: PALACIO EUSKALDUNA, ROOM A-2. Bilbao

The countdown to the holding of the II World Summit of Cities and Local Authorities on the Information Society starts on 24 October next with the official presentation of the event to the media.

The key points of this encounter in favour of digital solidarity will be analysed by those responsible for its organisation. Ana Aguirre, Joint Executive-President of the Summit and Basque Government Minister of Industry, will be accompanied at this presentation by Elisabeth Gateau, Secretary General of UCLG, the largest organisation of cities and regions on the planet, which represents more than half of the citizens from all five continents.

Also present at this meeting with the media will be Joseph Sarr, responsible for coordination of the Summit in Africa and one of the promoters of the Information Society in his country, Senegal.

As this event is being held in the Basque Country, Euskadi, Karmelo Sainz de la Maza, president of Eudel, the Association of Basque Municipalities, will also take part in the presentation.
