The municipal associations of Eudel and CERM join the list of support for the Bilbao Summit
EUDEL, the Association of Basque Municipalities, and CERM, the Council of European Municipalities and Regions, have for the moment been the latest municipal associations to join the Bilbao meeting next November. The list of cities and regions from all over the world which will be represented at the World Summit in the Basque capital is increasingly growing as the dates 9th - 11th November draw nearer.
The largest organization of cities and regions, UCLG, which represents more than half of the worldwide population, has guaranteed its support for the Bilbao meeting.
In its organization, cities from the five continents have pledged their support, from Sao Paulo (Brazil) and Leipzig (Germany) to Dakar (Senegal) and Shanghai and Peking in China, including Monterrey (Argentina), Durban (South Africa), Philadelphia (United States) or Lyon and Valenciennes (France), to name the most important cities in their commitment to Bilbao.
During these three days in November, Bilbao will become the worldwide forum for digital solidarity. Some associations go even further, such as Global Cities Dialogue (CGD), which integrates 200 cities from all over the planet, and will hold its main organizational meeting, the General Meeting, in Bilbao on these dates.
The capital of Bizkaia will welcome not only representatives of cities and municipalities of Europe, Africa and Latin America, but also Asia will be well represented. Regional authorities of India, China, Korea, Malaysia, the Philippines, Nepal and Mongolia also plan to attend.
At state level, the Spanish Federation of Municipalities and Provinces (FEMP), consisting of 7,000 institutions including Municipal Councils, Government Delegations, Councils and Island Councils, have also confirmed their participation, as announced by its president, Francisco Vázquez, mayor of A Coruña.
