CIFAL Bilbao promotes the Digital Solidarity Fund in Senegal

A delegation from CIFAL Bilbao visited Dakar, the capital of Senegal, on 24 and 25 January in order to promote the Digital Solidarity Fond, of which this African country was one of the promoters. CIFAL Bilbao, specialising in training institutions in new information technologies, met the leading authorities of Dakar and those responsible for Internet development in the country.

At this meeting, the priority objective was the development of a system of financing so that the Digital Solidarity Fond can turn digital projects in the most disadvantaged areas of the planet into reality.

In the same way, during their stay in Senegal the CIFAL Bilbao executives took an active part in organising the forthcoming Dakar Regional Conference, which will be used to prepare the 2nd World Summit of Cities and Local Authorities, to be held in Bilbao from 9 to 11 November 2005.
